KADUNA STATE GOVERNMENT FLAGS OFF DISTRIBUTION OF PALLIATIVE RICE TO CIVIL SERVANTS                                                                                                                                     28-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Kaduna State Government has flagged off the distribution of rice palliatives from the Federal government.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony in Kaduna, the state Head of Service, Hajia Habiba Shekarau said it was part of efforts to alleviate the current economic challenges faced by civil servants and many Nigerians.

She explained that the rice palliatives was part of wider strategic interventions by the federal and Kaduna state government to enable citizens cope with the current realities on ground.

Hajia Habiba Shekarau disclosed that the rice would be sold at a subsidized rate of forty thousand naira (#40,000) to Kaduna state civil servants in phases.

According to the Head of Service, Kaduna state received ten thousand bags of rice which will be shared among the MDAs on a fair basis and warned staff to desist from selling them as it breaches service rules.

In their different goodwill messages, the representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture as well as that of Human Services and Social Development said the gesture would go a long way in easing burdens on beneficiaries.

Highlight of the event was the flag off ceremony conducted by the the Head of Service in company of the Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development as well as the Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Kaduna chapter.
