PRESIDENT TINUBU ALTERS HIS LIST OF NOMINEES FOR THE SEDC BOARD, REPLACING THE INITIALLY-NOMINATED CHAIRMAN 07-12-24
By Sadiq Aminu President Bola Tinubu has altered his list of nominees for the South East Development Commission (SEDC) Board, replacing the initially-nominated Chairman, Mr. Emeka Atuma, with Dr Emeka Nworgu.
The President has also replaced all the three Executive Directors initially nominated and named two additional Executive Directors, and removed one of the Board members, Donatus Eyinnah Nwankpa.
However, Mark Okoye retains his position as the Commission’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the 16-member Board, one more member than the initial board.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, says the new Executive Director for Finance is Stanley Ohajuruka, who replaces Anthony Ugbo in the first list.
Toby Okechukwu is the new Executive Director of Projects, replacing Obinna Obiekweihe, while Chief Sylvester Okonkwo becomes the new Executive Director of Corporate Services, replacing Dr. Daniel Ugwuja.
The two nominated Executive Directors without a portfolio are Chiding I Echeazu and Dr. Clifford Ogbede.
The statement explains that the President has retained Ugochukwu Agballah, Okey Ezenwa, Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, Ifeanyi Agwu, Nasiru Usman, and Hamma Ali Kumo.
The other nominees retained are Edward Onoja, Orure Inima, and Mrs. Joke Adebayo-Chukwuma
All the nominations are subject to Senate confirmation.
The statement says President Tinubu expects the nominees, as pioneers, to use their wealth of experience and expertise to actualise the Commission’s mandate and develop the South East Region.
