FG TO PARTNER PAKISTANI GOVERNMENT TO IMPROVE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION                                                                                  08-12-24

The Minister of State for Agriculture and Food security, Sen. Sabi Abdullahi, has said Nigeria will collaborate with Pakistan to explore areas of possible partnership in agriculture.

Sen. Sabi Abdullahi disclose this when he received the High Commissioner of Pakistan on a courtesy visit in Abuja, pointing out that both countries have a cordial relationship and a lot in common.

The Minister, therefore, stressed the need for both countries to work together and develop each other. He pointed out that “Nigeria is ready to partner with all our friends, by creating something that would work for the two countries.”

He further stated that President Bola Tinubu, was also working hard to see what he can create to tackle the issues of insecurity due to climate change.

The High Commissioner of Pakistan, Retired Major General Sohali Ahmad-Khan, revealed that the essence of the visit was to offer solutions and learn from Nigeria.

He said Pakistan would like to share training and expertise in terms of research and innovation where professionals from Nigeria will come to Pakistan and see for themselves things that will be of interest.

Tracing some of the achievement Pakistan has made in Agriculture, the High Commissioner said Pakistan is the 5th producer of cotton, 4th producer of sugar, 8th largest producer of meat, 10th largest producer of rice in the world and this made the country to stand out as the 10th largest producer of these agricultural products.

Highlights of the event was the official presentation of the letter by the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Minister.
