FOUR NEW HIGHER INSTITUTIONS TO BE ESTABLISHED IN ZARIA- SPEAKER                                                                                          15-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 Four Higher institutions to be Established in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Speaker House of Representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas, made this known in Zaria while addressing executive members of the Zaria Educational and Development Association, ZEDA.
Dr. Abbas said the Schools to be established include a Federal College of Education, a state-of-the-art College of Health Sciences, a National Open University campus, and a College of Legal Studies.
According to Dr. Abbas, these institutions will not only enhance Zaria’s educational infrastructure but also provide critical resources for the region.

He said the plans for the establishment of four new institutions in the city, which will enhance its educational infrastructure and provide critical resources for the region, would also promote Socio-economic development of the region.
The Speaker explained that the Federal College of Education is to be constructed following the successful upgrade of the existing College of Education into a university.

Dr Abbas further said a state-of-the-art College of Health Sciences will be established in response to the growing demand for nurses and midwives in Zaria and the broader northwestern region of Nigeria.
On the establishment of of a National Open University campus in Zaria, the Speaker said the purpose was to cater for the needs of civil servants and other individuals unable to participate in conventional educational systems.

The Speaker while expressing his deep appreciation for the support of ZEDA reiterated his commitment to serving the community in any way possible.
