FRSC DEPLOYS 950 PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENTS FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS IN KWARA STATE 19-12-24
By Sadiq Aminu The Federal Road Safety Corps, Kwara State Sector Command has deployed Nine hundred and fifty personnel to ensure a hitch free Christmas and New year celebrations in the state.
In a statement the public education officer of the corps Basambo Busari says breakdown of those deployed included three hundred and fifty Special Marshals (350), and one hundred and twenty (120) First responders .
According to it the equipment to be used during the period included ,Sixteen (16) patrol vehicles, two (2) power bikes, Four (04), Ambulances Four (04), Private tow trucks and a (70) tonnes Tow-truck to monitor all roads .
It further points that the personnel would ensure traffic control at strategic locations within Ilorin Township and major cities in the state during the Christmas & New year special patrol ( Operation Zero Tolerance for Road traffic Crash) scheduled from 15th December to 15th January, 2025.
The statement admonishes the motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations through out the yultide.
It enjoins drivers to avoid Dangerous driving and wrongful overtaking, excessive speeding, overloading, Obstruction, and Use of Phone While Driving, among others .
It explains that the Command is fully engaged in Public Enlightenment campaign and Mega Rally in all interstate motor parks, Early Morning cry, Market, church and mosque advocacies to sensitize the motoring public in the State.
The statement says the command is also carrying out Special Patrol Operation/ traffic control to ease free flow of traffic along the major roads.
