170 SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS ARRESTED BY THE NASARAWA STATE POLICE COMMAND BETWEEN JANUARY AND DECEMBER, 2024                                                                           20-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    One hundred and seven suspected kidnappers have been arrested by the Nasarawa state police command between January and December, this year.

State Command Public Relations Officer DSP Ramhan Nansel disclosed this in Lafia while speaking to Africa247 on the preparedness of the command for a peaceful Christmas and New year celebrations.

Highlighting efforts of the Nasarawa state police command in addressing the security situation, the command public relations officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Ramhan Nansel revealed that one hundred and seventy three armed robbery suspects were arrested while luck ran out of one hundred and seven suspected kidnappers as they were now cooling their heels in security custody.

DSP Ramhan Nansel also stated that twenty-seven kidnapped victims were rescued with twenty seven vehicles and motorcycles recovered.

He assured residents particularly of the Christian faith that security personnel will be deployed adequately to worship and recreation centers as well as other strategic places to ensure a hitch-free Christmas and new year celebration.

“The command is fully prepared for the yuletide. The command has drawn an operation order; the command will be deploying four thousand security operatives, that is police officers, apart from those who will be deployed by sister security agencies in the state to provide security during the yuletide.”

The state police PRO also stressed the need for residents to be security conscious by ensuring that at least one family is left behind in the compound while others are away to mark the celebrations elsewhere.

Nasarawa state has been grappling with security challenges ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery and rape amongst others.

From the kidnapping of some Government officials and wives of politicians, students of tertiary institutions, traders have also had their share of experiences in the hands of men of the world during the year under review.
