ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT HOLDS INAUGURAL MEETING OF THE HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL                                                                                      09-01-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The Zamfara State Government has held inaugural meeting of the Human Capital Development (HCD) Council, marking a significant step toward fostering sustainable growth and development in the state.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Governor, Malam Mani Malam Mummuni has brought together key stakeholders to discuss critical thematic areas, including health, education, youth development, and community engagement.

Malam Mummuni emphasized the importance of human capital development as a cornerstone for building a prosperous and inclusive Zamfara State.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing challenges in the sectors through innovative and collaborative approaches.

The Deputy Governor thanked the participants for their contributions and reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to implementing policies that will transform Zamfara State into a model of human capital development in Nigeria.

Highlight of the meeting was the presentation of a comprehensive Human Capital Development Strategy Document by the Special Adviser on Human Capital Development, Alhaji Nura Surajo Gusau.

The document outlines plans and strategic initiatives aimed at addressing gaps in the identified sectors and It would also serves as a blueprint for ensuring that, the state leverages its human resources to drive economic growth, improve service delivery, and enhance the quality of life for its citizens.

Other key discussions during the meeting included Strategies to improve access to quality healthcare services, with a focus on maternal and child health and the provision of essential medical equipments and facilities.

As well as Plans to enhance access to quality education at all levels, reduce out-of-school children, and improve infrastructure in learning institutions.

The meeting also deliberated on Youth Development perticulerly on Programs to empower young people through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship training, and job creation initiatives as wells as Mechanisms to strengthen partnerships with community stakeholders and ensure grassroots involvement in the implementation of development projects.

While the Council members had expressed their commitment to aligning their efforts with the strategy document and pledged to work collaboratively to achieve its goals.
