KEBI STATE GOVERNMENT TRAINS ADDITIONAL 1000 TEACHERS OF MATHS AND ENGLISH                                                                                                                                         13-01-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The Kebbi State Government, has commenced a one week training of additional One thousand teachers of Mathematics and English language.

The training, aimed to equip teachers with the necessary skills for effective performance and efficient service delivery in schools across the state particularly in the field of Mathematics and English language.

Speaking while declaring open the training at Umaru Waziri Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, said the training was a follow up to a similar exercise conducted in January 2024 which had a tremendous impact on the teaching and learning processes in schools.

Represented by the State Head of the Civil service, Malami Muhammad Shekare, emphasized that, the training would be an annual programme to enhance the capacity of teachers in the state.

While describing education as the bedrock of development to every society, Governor Idris, stressed the importance of regular training and retraining of teachers, motivation, provision of standard teaching facilities and equipment, conducive environment and as well to lay a solid foundation for young people.

The Executive Chairman, Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Sulaiman Khalid, disclosed that, the state government has made significant investment in the education sector of the state.

He stated that, the government has provided 789 classrooms, 16,582 units of furnitures and trains 8,462 teachers and education managers.

The two-week training workshop was organized by the state government in collaboration with Consultancy Services of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi.
