KANO STATE ASSEMBLY DECLARES STATE OF EMERGENCY ON RURAL ROADS                                                                                                 20-01-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Kano state house of assembly KNHA has declared a state of emergency on rural roads across the state.

This was sequel to deliberations on the floor of the house in a motion moved by member representing Minjibir constituency Alhaji Abdul Abdulhamid during plenary presided over by the speaker Alhaji Jibril Isma’il Falgore.

Mover of the motion argued that, since the inception of the 10th assembly, over 90 motions were passed concerning urban roads without considering rural areas.

The lawmaker explained that, declaring a state of emergency on the construction of rural roads will improve the economy and reduce hardship.

“Am urging the house to consider the motion due to its importance and call on the executive to implement the declaration for the development of the state”

Supporting the motion, member representing Doguwa constituency Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim Muhammad pointed out that, the initiative will go a long way in improving transportation of goods and services from villages as most of them are farmers.

He described a good road network as one of the major catalysts for ensuring effective healthcare delivery.

“Rural infrastructure is a political tool, it improves health, education and boosts the economy through value chain”

After careful deliberations, the house unanimously adopted a resolution and urged the state government to as a matter of urgency construct roads across rural areas.

The house adjourned it’s sitting in a motion moved by the majority leaders Lawan Husaini Dala.
