By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    The Kano State Police Command has foiled a terrorist plot and arrested three suspects, including the wife of a wanted Chadian terrorist, Ahmad Adam Abba.

The Kano Commissioner of Police CP Salman Dogo Garba disclosed this while briefing journalist at the police headquarters Bompai kano.

According to Commissioner of Police, the Command received intelligence reports about the presence of suspected terrorists in the state, leading to a security alert on January 24, 2025.

“Acting on this information, the police recovered Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and identified Abba, who masterminded the killing of 17 people in Chad, planning to set up a terrorist base in Kano.”

“Although Abba escaped from Nigeria, the police apprehended three of his associates, including his wife, another Chadian national, Jibrin Mohammed, 42, and a Nigerian. The suspects are currently in custody, facing investigation.”

CP Garba assured the public that the Command is committed to maintaining peace and order in the state, and that there is no hiding place for terrorists in Kano.

He said the police have intensified patrols and surveillance measures in vulnerable areas and are working closely with intelligence agencies and communities to identify suspicious activities and individuals.

The Commissioner encouraged the public to cooperate with the police and provide valuable information to prevent emerging security threats.

CP Salman Dogo Garba appreciated the support of the Kano State Government and the people of the state, reassuring them that their safety is paramount.
