KNSG TO SET COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE RIMIN ZAKARA LAND DISPUTES                                                                                               03-02-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                   The Kano State Government has announced plans to constitute a committee to investigate the root cause of the crisis that led to the loss of three lives during the demolition of illegal structures at Rimin Zakara, Ungogo Local Government area.

The Commissioner for Information and internal affairs comrade Ibrahim Waiya disclosed this during a media briefing in his Office.

According to the Commissioner the committee will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Waiya explained that the demolition operation was conducted at the request of Bayero University to reclaim its land, which had been illegally occupied despite compensation paid over 30 years ago.

The commissioner maintained that the state government’s action was justified, but acknowledged the need for a thorough investigation into the incident.

He added that the security action was on self defense, but the committee would investigate further to ascertain the root cause of the matter.

He sympathized with the families of the affected victims.
