By Sadiq Aminu.                                                     The House of Representatives today passed the tax reform bills
The Tax Reform bills which includes the Nigeria tax bill, the Tax Administration bill, the Joint Revenue Board Establishment Bill, and the Nigeria Revenue Service Bill, have been at the forefront of National Discourse since it was submitted to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu in October last year
The House of Representatives last Thursday adopted the Recommendations by the House Committee on Finance on the Tax Reform.
This followed by the presentation and consideration of the reports submitted by the Chairman House Committee on Finance James Faleke during Plenary.
The bills which initially generated controversies and apprehensions, got the nodes and supports of stakeholders after meetings, consultations and dialogues
During the clauses by clauses consideration, the Speaker House of Representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas, commended the diligent work carried out by the House Committee on Finance
The Speaker also pointed out that the endorsement of the Bills was a true reflection of Nigerians.
Now that the Bills have been passed by the Green Chamber, the senate is expected to pass the bills after which the harmonised version will be transmitted to the president for assent.
