MINISTER OF INTERIOR DIRECTS A COMPREHENSIVE INVESTIGATION INTO THE JAILBREAK AT THE KOTON-KARFE CUSTODIAL CENTRE                                                                                               24-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu.                                                          Similarly, Minister of Interior, Doctor Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has directed an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the jailbreak at the Koton-Karfe Custodial Centre.

In a statement by his media advisor, Babatunde Alao, Minister of Interior, the Minister assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to recapture the escaped inmates.

He emphasized that the Nigerian Correctional Service will leverage its advanced biometrics and technological resources in the pursuit.

Doctor Tunji-Ojo also directed the Acting Comptroller General of the Service, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche to conduct an on-site assessment of the Kogi facility which will be followed by a thorough audit to pinpoint the root causes of the security breach.
