By Sadiq Aminu                                                      As the Anambra State workers join their counterparts in celebrating this year’s International Workers’ Day, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze has described them as solid collaborators in progress in the state.

Mr Udeze urged them to continue to sustain and deepen the existing working relationship with the government to enhance environmental and industrial harmony between them and Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

In his Goodwill Message to the State workforce, Mr Udeze noted with satisfaction the impressive performance of the State workers in various sectors of the economy where they had continued to outshine their counterparts in the country.

He emphasized that the workers had done the State proud in both National and International competitions by clinching first positions as well as overall best teachers.

The Speaker who commended Governor Soludo for his pragmatic efforts towards improving the welfare of the State workforce through massive employments, training and retraining of workers and provision of various support to the organized labour in the State, enjoined workers to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture by shunning acts capable of smearing their image and reputation.

He enjoined them to use the occasion of this year’s Workers’ Day to reflect on how to be better and more productive by renewing their efforts through dedication, resilience and innovation.

In a release, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker,Mr Emma Madu, said Mr Udeze, while commending the State Head of Service, Mrs Theodora Igwegbe and other Stakeholders in public and civil service sector in the State for transforming the system, urged workers to continue to support the present administration, which he said, had touched them positively.
