DEFECTION HITS PDP, AS PARTY HOLDS NEC MEETING

‎               By Sadiq Aminu                                                         More Defection has hit the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, as Party held their NEC meeting to address the political crises rocking the leading opposition party in Nigeria.

‎ A member, House of Representatives Festus Olanrewaju Akingbaso, from the People’s Democratic Party PDP, has joined the Ruling All Progressives Congress APC.

‎ Mr. Akingbaso, the Member representing Idanre Ifedore Federal Constituency of Ondo State, defection was announced in the floor of the House during Plenary by the Speaker House of Representatives Dr Abbas Tajudeen.

‎ Mr. Akingbaso cited internal crises in the People’s Democratic Party PDP as reason for his defection.

‎Raising Point of Order, the House Minority leader, Kingsley Chinda called on the Green Chamber to ensure strict adherence to relevant constitutional provisions before joining another Political Party.
