NSCDC CLARIFIES ATTACK ON GWAZAYE OFFICE                                                                                                                          04-06-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command has issued a statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding an attack on their office in Gwazaye, Kumbotso local government area.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, the attack was a result of a misunderstanding.

The Statement stated that On Monday, June 2, 2025, at about 8 pm, a phone snatch attempt by two hoodlums armed with knives was foiled by a resident of Gwazaye.

In the process, one of the hoodlums was stabbed in the neck and later died. The resident and his neighbors rushed to the Civil Defence Outpost at Semegu to report the incident.

However, criminal elements armed with dangerous weapons regrouped and attacked the Civil Defence office, mistaking the resident and his neighbors for NSCDC personnel.

The NSCDC clarified that none of its personnel was involved in the incident, and the attack was unprovoked.

The case is now with the Police CID, Kano, for discreet investigation and further necessary action.

The NSCDC assured the public that it did not maim or kill any suspected thug in the area.

The NSCDC’s statement aims to set the record straight and provide clarity on the incident.

The command’s commitment to transparency and fairness is evident in its decision to allow the police to investigate the matter.

The public can rest assured that the NSCDC will continue to uphold its mandate of providing security and protecting lives and property .
