In a formal ceremony, Professor Bello Abubakar Zaaki officially relinquished his role as Acting E.S ARCN to Dr. Adamu Dabban on Monday, June 16, at the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria Conference Hall.

The event drew dignitaries, council staff, and key agricultural agency representatives, who convened to honor Professor Zaaki’s and welcome the new Executive Secretary. The ceremony highlighted Professor Zaaki’s accomplishments in advancing agricultural research, policy implementation, and stakeholder engagement nationwide.

Following the handover, the delegation proceeded to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security Agency, where Dr. Adamu Dabban was formally introduced to the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari and also the Minister of State, Sen. Dr. Aliyu Abdullahi Sa’abi. This move underscored the continued alignment between the Council and the Ministry in driving agricultural innovation and food security initiatives.

Professor Zaaki expressed gratitude to colleagues and partners for their support during his tenure. “It has been a privilege to serve, and I am confident that Dr. Abubakar Adamu will continue to uphold the vision and mission of the Council with integrity and excellence,” he stated.

Dr.Adamu Dabban, in his acceptance speech, thanked the Council and Ministry leadership for the opportunity to serve. “This is a critical time for our agricultural sector, and I am committed to building on the solid foundation laid by my predecessor. Together, we will work towards a more resilient, productive, and food secure Nigeria,” he stated.

The transition is widely regarded as a seamless and promising change in leadership, with high expectations for continued progress under Dr. Adamu’s guidance.
