ZAMFARA STATE GOVERNMENT DECLARES FRIDAY, JUNE 27, 2025 AS WORK-FREE DAY TO MARK ISLAMIC NEW YEAR 1447AH

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Zamfara State Government has declared Friday, June 27, 2025, as a work-free day to commemorate the beginning of the Islamic New Year, 1447AH.

The State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa announced this in a statement says Governor Dauda Lawal approval was in line with the state’s tradition of honoring key Islamic events.

According to the statement, the holiday will provides an opportunity for the Muslim Ummah and all residents to mark the New Year in reflection, gratitude, and prayers.

It says Governor Lawal also extends his heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim community and encourages citizens to continue praying for the restoration of peace, progress, and harmony in Zamfara State and Nigeria at large—especially in light of ongoing security challenges.

The Government wishes all a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Islamic New Year.
