ONE CONFIRMED DEAD, WOMAN RESCUED ALIVE IN KANO WELL ACCIDENT                                                                                                                30-06-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                   A tragic well incident has claimed the life of a 50-year-old man, Salisu Musa, in Gora Village, Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Kano.

According to Saminu, the victim was said to be mentally unstable.

He explained that, according to eyewitnesses, Salisu had reportedly ran into the bush, eventually falling into a well.

The public relations officer pointed out that, despite his calls for help, no one could rescue him until the arrival of the Fire Service rescue team.

“He was found unconscious and later confirmed dead”

“His body was handed over to Inspector Nuhu Daniel of the Madobi Police Division for further investigation”

Similarly, the Kano state fire service has successfully rescued a 37-year-old woman, Maryam Biya, who also fell into a well along France Road in Fagge Local Government Area.

He said, a concerned citizen, Joseph Pitter reported the incident through the Fire Service’s Central Control Room.

Saminu stressed that, on arrival, the rescue team retrieved Maryam out of the well alive.

“She was immediately rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital for medical attention”

He noted that she was later handed over to Police Constable Mu’azu Abdullahi of the Sabon Gari Police Division.

The public relations officer Saminu Yusif commended the efforts of the emergency teams in both cases.

He also called on the public to take precautionary measures, particularly around open wells, to prevent such unfortunate incidents future.
