REPS UNVEILS 86 CONSTITUTION REVIEW BILLS, SEEK PUBLIC INPUT…………………

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The House of Representatives has released a compendium of 86 proposed constitutional amendment bills and is calling on Nigerians to contribute their opinions.

Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, who chairs the Constitution Review Committee, presented the document in Abuja, emphasizing the importance of public participation in shaping the reforms.

The compendium covers 13 key areas, including electoral and judicial reforms, devolution of powers, security, local government, fiscal policies, human rights, and state creation.

Kalu said zonal public hearings will be held nationwide to gather feedback, and urged citizens to download, review, and share their views on the bills. He noted, however, that not all proposals are guaranteed to pass.
