COALITION URGES SUPREME COURT TO RESOLVE KANO EMIRATE DISPUTE……..

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

A coalition of political analysts and democracy advocates has called on the Supreme Court of Nigeria to urgently resolve the lingering Kano Emirate dispute.

Speaking at a press briefing, the Coalition of Political Analysts Forum, Democracy Protectors, and Good Governance, led by Comrade Al-Amin Albarra and Malam Saminu Abubakar, warned that the prolonged conflict could deepen division and trigger unrest in Kano State.

They stressed that the over year-long dispute is a constitutional matter that demands a clear ruling from the Supreme Court to define the legal authority over the creation of traditional institutions.

The group expressed concern over increasing polarization in Kano, urging the apex court to act swiftly to provide clarity and prevent further tension.
