NANISS UNITES CULTURE AND AGRICULTURE AT ABU ZARIA

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS) lit up Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, on August 30, 2025, with a colorful blend of tradition and innovation. Themed “Honoring the Past, Uniting the Future,” the cultural carnival and agro-investment summit drew scholars, policymakers, and over a thousand students.

Traditional dances, drama, and spoken word showcased Nigeria’s rich heritage, while discussions on agriculture emphasized youth empowerment and digital innovation. Former leaders, top policymakers, and scholars urged students to embrace agri-tech as a pathway to growth.

Honored guests included representatives of Niger State Government, distinguished senators, and national figures who praised NANISS for merging cultural pride with forward-looking dialogue. The day also featured awards for notable contributors and recognition of past leaders.

The event, described as a turning point for NANISS, reinforced its role as both a custodian of heritage and a driver of youth development through agriculture.
