JIGAWA GOV’T APPROVES N75BN SUPPLEMENTARY BUDGET FOR 2025

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Jigawa State Government has approved a N75 billion supplementary budget for 2025, covering both the state and 27 local government councils.

Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Sagir Musa Ahmed, said the budget arose from additional revenue to meet new financial needs and strengthen priority sectors.

He explained that N58 billion was allocated to the state government, while N17 billion goes to local councils, covering recurrent and capital spending.

The funds will support ongoing projects and address needs in education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and other development areas.

Sagir added that the proposal will be sent to the State House of Assembly for approval, noting that the move shows government’s commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and better service delivery.
