ABUJA–KADUNA TRAIN SERVICES TO RESUME OCTOBER 1 WITH LIMITED SCHEDULE

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Rail operations on the Abuja–Kaduna corridor are set to resume on October 1 after months of suspension. The Nigerian Railway Corporation confirmed that only one train will be deployed on the route in the initial phase of operations.

According to the schedule, the train will depart from the Idu station in Abuja at 9:05 a.m. daily, while the return journey from Rigasa station in Kaduna is fixed for 2:30 p.m. Officials explained that the limited service is part of a gradual resumption plan designed to manage passenger flow and ensure safety.

The Abuja–Kaduna rail line remains one of the busiest in the country, serving thousands of commuters who travel for business, education, and other purposes. Its reopening is expected to provide relief for travelers who have faced increased costs and security concerns on the Abuja–Kaduna expressway during the suspension period.
