KADUNA UNVEILS EMERGENCY MEDICAL AND AMBULANCE SERVICES

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Governor Uba Sani has launched the Kaduna State Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (KADSEMSAS) alongside the Rural Emergency Services and Maternal Transport (RESMAT).

The initiative is designed to provide swift medical response, especially for maternal and neonatal emergencies in rural and hard-to-reach areas. Governor Sani said the scheme reflects Kaduna’s commitment to universal health coverage, timely care, and stronger healthcare coordination.

Health Commissioner Dr. Umma Ahmed called it a milestone in healthcare reforms, noting that the programme will save lives, particularly of women and children, while improving referral systems across the state.
