PDP IN CHAOS AS FACTION TAKES OVER SECRETARIAT

Tension erupted at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja on Monday as a faction attempted to replace National Chairman Umar Iliya Damagum with Abdulrahman Mohammed.
Mohammed declared himself Acting National Chairman, saying party stakeholders chose him to rescue the PDP from crisis. He promised to unite members, end internal fights, and hold a national convention to elect new leaders.
Earlier, staff blocked National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu from entering his office after his suspension, prompting police to fire teargas to restore order.
Moments later, Mohammed and his supporters entered the chairman’s office, claiming control of the party. Police have since secured the building amid the ongoing power struggle.
