FG INAUGURATES NOA–NUC COMMITTEE ON NEW UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Federal Government has set up a joint NOA–NUC committee to create a unified National Heritage and Citizenship Studies curriculum for all universities. NOA DG Lanre Issa-Onilu said the initiative supports the National Identity Project and Values Charter, aimed at strengthening patriotism and national consciousness.

Citizenship Education is already embedded in primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, and the new curriculum will extend it fully to universities. The NUC representative, Florence Onuoha, said the goal is to produce graduates grounded in national values and civic responsibility.
