GOVERNOR RADDA SIGNS 2026 KATSINA BUDGET INTO LAW

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Governor Dikko Radda has signed the N897bn Katsina State 2026 budget into law, praising lawmakers for its quick passage. He said the budget prioritises development, with 82% allocated to capital projects and only 18% to recurrent spending well below the 30% ceiling set by law.

Radda described it as a “people’s budget,” built from inputs gathered during town hall meetings across all wards. He urged lawmakers to ensure strict oversight and full implementation.

Speaker Nasir Yahaya noted that Katsina is the first state to pass its 2026 appropriation bill.
