ZAMFARA FIRST LADY, UNICEF EMPOWER SCHOOLGIRLS WITH HYGIENE KITS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, in partnership with UNICEF, has distributed hygiene kits to 1,000 students at Government Girls Day Secondary School, Galadima, Gusau, as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

Hajiya Huriyya urged the girls to care for themselves, speak out against abuse, and use the resources available at the Huriyya Dauda Lawal Sexual Assault Referral Centre for support. She emphasized the need to protect girls both offline and online and called for collective action to end violence and harassment.

Students and school officials praised the initiative, acknowledging its role in empowering girls to live confidently and report abuse without fear.
