SHUAIBU HAILS TROOPS FOR DEMOCRACY RESTORATION

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shuaibu, has commended Nigerian Army troops for their successful role in restoring democracy in the Republic of Benin. He gave the commendation while addressing soldiers at the 65 Battalion, Bonny Cantonment, Lagos.

Shuaibu praised the prompt response of 81 Division during the deployment and acknowledged their continued efforts in maintaining security across Lagos and Ogun states. He noted that the General Officer Commanding the Division had briefed him on the troops’ discipline and professionalism.

The Army Chief reaffirmed that the welfare of soldiers and their families remains a priority, adding that improved welfare enhances operational effectiveness nationwide. He expressed satisfaction with the decline in illegal activities and urged troops to remain committed to core military values.

During the visit, Lt. Gen. Shuaibu also inaugurated newly completed facilities at T.A. Lagbaja Cantonment.
