DANGOTE REFINERY SLASHES PETROL PRICE TO ₦699 PER LITRE

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has cut its petrol price from ₦828 to ₦699 per litre, a drop of ₦129, or about 16%. The new rate takes effect from December 11, 2025, according to Petroleumprice.ng.

This marks the refinery’s 20th petrol price adjustment this year, showing its commitment to making fuel more affordable for Nigerians. Experts say the cut could ease travel costs during the busy holiday season and help reduce the burden of high fuel prices across the country.

To support distribution, Dangote Refinery has also introduced a 10-day credit facility for marketers, making it easier for them to keep fuel moving under the new pricing structure. The move highlights the refinery’s push to challenge import-dependent pricing and strengthen local fuel supply.
