KANO POLICE STEP UP SECURITY FOR NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Kano State Police Command has announced intensified security measures to ensure a safe and peaceful New Year. Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, praised officers for their work during Christmas and urged continued vigilance at public spaces, recreational centres, and major routes.

Enhanced patrols, traffic control, and intelligence-led operations have been deployed, while residents are advised to stay alert, report suspicious activity, and avoid reckless behavior, underage driving, and use of fireworks or banned explosives. CP Bakori commended the public’s cooperation and encouraged prompt reporting of any threats to local police or emergency lines.
