The Lagos State House of Assembly has approved a ₦4.4 trillion budget for the 2026 fiscal year, tagged the Budget of Shared Prosperity. The budget, which represents the final full spending plan of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term, was passed after lawmakers adopted the report of the joint committee on appropriation and finance.

The Assembly said the budget prioritises infrastructure and economic growth, reflecting strong capital investment alongside recurrent spending. Lawmakers described the spending plan as realistic and growth-driven, expressing confidence in improved revenue performance and effective implementation. The Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, has directed that the bill be transmitted to Governor Sanwo-Olu for assent.
