The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has reaffirmed a strong and unbreakable partnership between the Nigerian Army and the Taraba State Government in the renewed fight against terrorism and insecurity. He gave the assurance while receiving Governor Agbu Kefas and other stakeholders during a courtesy visit to the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

Lieutenant General Shaibu said the Army remains committed to supporting civil authorities to maintain peace, noting that Taraba State’s terrain and security dynamics make it a critical area in the nation’s security framework. He praised Governor Kefas for his decisive leadership and consistent support to security agencies, describing the state’s contributions as key to improving military operations and overall security in the region.

The Army Chief stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved through strong civil-military cooperation and urged residents to support security efforts by providing timely and credible information. He added that improved infrastructure and welfare would further enhance troop effectiveness and readiness.

Governor Kefas, in his response, reaffirmed Taraba State’s solidarity with the Nigerian Army, commending the professionalism and sacrifices of troops whose presence has led to visible improvements in security. He pledged continued support to sustain a united and determined front against all forms of insecurity.
