NCAA ORDERS AIRLINES TO PROVIDE SPECIAL ASSISTANCE FOR PASSENGERS WITH DISABILITIES

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed all domestic airlines to offer a mandatory special needs assistance option on ticket booking platforms for passengers with reduced mobility or disabilities. Airlines must allow travelers to request assistance when booking tickets online or via phone.

The directive, backed by the 2023 Civil Aviation Regulations, gives airlines seven days to comply, warning of sanctions for non-compliance. NCAA emphasized its commitment to ensuring inclusive, accessible, and safe air travel for all passengers.
