TROOPS REPEL BOKO HARAM INFILTRATION IN MAIDUGURI

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Troops have repelled an attempted infiltration by suspected Boko Haram fighters in the Ajilari Cross area of Maiduguri, Borno State.

Residents said gunshots were heard around 1 a.m. on Monday, causing panic in the neighbourhood as security forces responded to the attack.

The Nigeria Police Force confirmed the incident and urged residents to remain indoors while joint security operatives secured the area.

Normalcy later returned, although the location remained cordoned off as security checks continued.
