The Senate has directed Olatunji Disu to launch a full investigation into the recent killings in Plateau State, where at least 28 people were reportedly killed in Jos North.
The resolution followed concerns by lawmakers over the worsening security situation, as they called for the perpetrators to be identified, arrested, and prosecuted without delay.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio is expected to lead a delegation to the affected communities to sympathise with victims and assess the situation.
Lawmakers warned that the continued violence poses a serious threat to lives, economic activities, and stability in the region, urging security agencies to step up intelligence and operational efforts to prevent further attacks.
