EX-FIRS BOSS NAMI PLEDGES PEOPLE-CENTERED LEADERSHIP DURING NIGER SOUTH TOUR

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Former Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and Niger South Senatorial aspirant, Muhammad Nami, has assured residents of Agaie and Katcha Local Government Areas that he would not abandon them if elected into the Senate.

Nami gave the assurance on Wednesday during meetings with party stakeholders and supporters across the two councils, where he said his ambition was driven by service, accountability and community development.

According to him, politics should not be about making promises during elections and disappearing after assuming office, stressing that leadership must focus on improving the lives of the people.

During the visit, the former FIRS boss announced several intervention programmes covering education, water supply and infrastructure support for communities in the area. The packages include scholarships for students, sponsorship opportunities, construction of boreholes and support for community projects.

He said the interventions were part of efforts to address critical needs in the communities while promoting youth empowerment and access to education.

Nami also pledged to sustain programmes that would directly impact the people if elected to represent Niger South Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agaie and Katcha welcomed the aspirant and assured party members of a level playing ground ahead of the party primaries.
