The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) has begun the distribution of 80,680 bags of NPK fertiliser to smallholder farmers in Benue, Kwara, Nasarawa and Niger states under its Renewed Hope Farm Input Support Programme.

The programme was flagged off in Minna, Niger State, where the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Sabi Abdullahi, said the initiative was part of efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen food production and support farmers during the current planting season.

Abdullahi said the intervention reflects President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to revitalising the agricultural sector and improving food security across the country.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of NADF, Mohammed Ibrahim, said the programme would help boost productivity, improve yields and contribute to food price stability. He stressed the need to prioritise agriculture as a key driver of national development.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, described the initiative as a welcome support to ongoing efforts to expand agricultural production in the state.

Representatives of farmers and other stakeholders also commended the programme, expressing optimism that it would ease production challenges and enhance food output in the beneficiary states.
