ICPC ARRESTS EL-RUFAI’S DOCTOR OVER ALLEGED COURT ORDER VIOLATION

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arrested Professor Bello Abubakar, personal physician to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, over alleged violation of a court-approved medical visit and the making of false statements.
The commission said the arrest followed the emergence of photographs showing El-Rufai with associates during a medical visit at the National Hospital, Abuja, an action it described as inconsistent with the purpose of the court-approved trip.
ICPC said it would bring the development to the attention of the court, stressing that it would not tolerate any abuse of privileges granted during legal proceedings. The commission added that investigations are ongoing.
