ADC RAISES CONCERN OVER ALLEGED INTIMIDATION AHEAD OF OSUN ELECTION

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised concerns over reports of possible intimidation involving its National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, ahead of Saturday’s Osun governorship election.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said it received information about possible actions by security agencies against Aregbesola in the days leading to the election.

The ADC urged security agencies and the Federal Government to follow due process in any engagement with political actors and ensure that the election is conducted peacefully and in line with the law.

The party also called on all stakeholders to avoid actions that could heighten tension, stressing the need to protect peace and stability in Osun before, during and after the poll.
