The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the safe release of business tycoon Chief Joseph Ezeokafor and a Reverend Sister who were abducted by armed criminals in Ifite-Awka more than a week ago.
Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement that both victims have regained their freedom and returned safely.
The Command said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding their release and identify those responsible for the abduction.
Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, Managing Director of Jezco Oil Group of Companies and father of social media personality Jowi Zaza, was abducted on August 5 while attending prayers at a prayer ground in Ifite-Awka.
The Police urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information that could assist security agencies in arresting the perpetrators.
