By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued 10 civilians held captive by terrorists across Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states.

The Joint Task Force Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, said the rescues followed swift military operations targeting terrorist activities in the three states.

In Sokoto, troops rescued five victims during an encounter with terrorists in Isa Local Government Area, while three others were rescued in Danko Wasagu, Kebbi State, following an intelligence-led operation.

In Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara, troops also freed two captives after forcing the terrorists to flee. The victims, who sustained gunshot wounds, were taken to a medical facility for treatment.

The Theatre Command commended the troops for their efforts and urged residents to continue providing credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations.
