GOV YUSUF MOVES TO REFORM KANO HEALTH SECTOR WITH THREE BILLS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has forwarded three bills to the State House of Assembly as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve the management of health services across the state.

The bills seek to amend the Kano State Drugs and Medical Supply Management Agency law, establish a Primary Health Care Management system and create three independent health colleges.

The bills were presented during plenary for consideration and legislative action, with the governor urging lawmakers to give them favourable consideration.

Meanwhile, the Assembly has confirmed Salihi Adamu as Secretary of Takai Local Government Council.

The confirmation followed the recommendation of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs after screening his qualifications and conducting an oral interview.

The House unanimously adopted the committee’s recommendation and confirmed his appointment.
