NAF LAUNCHES SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATION AFTER ATR-42 CRASH IN ONDO

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched an immediate search and rescue operation after an ATR-42 aircraft crashed in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State on Monday, October 5, 2026.
The aircraft was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when the incident occurred. The NAF said rescue efforts are being carried out in coordination with relevant authorities and emergency response agencies.
The Air Force said its teams are working to ensure the success of the ongoing operation, while further details on the incident will be released as they become available. At the time of the NAF’s initial statement, no casualty figures had been officially confirmed.
