The Katsina State Government has launched a N3.1 billion grant scheme targeting more than 62,000 nano, micro and small businesses across the state’s 34 local government areas.
Governor Dikko Radda said the initiative, implemented through the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), aims to boost grassroots businesses, create jobs, improve household incomes and stimulate economic growth.
Under the scheme, nano businesses will receive N50,000 each, micro enterprises N100,000, while small businesses will get N150,000, depending on their classification.
Radda said the beneficiaries include traders, mechanics, tailors, welders, artisans and other small business operators. The government will also provide 2,000 business kiosks and customised signboards to improve their working conditions and visibility.
The governor added that the state disbursed N3.5 billion in interest-free loans to more than 6,000 small businesses in 2025, reportedly creating over 5,000 jobs.
KASEDA Director-General, Dr Babangida Ruma, said the new grant scheme is supported by a digital business database designed to strengthen enterprise development across the state.
