HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES REJECTS SAMOA AGREEMENT URGES FG TO SUSPEND IT’S IMPLEMENTATION                                                                                                               09-07-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to Suspend the implementation of SAMOA agreement.
In an urgent motion of public importance by a member representing Dala Federal Constituency of Kano State, Mr. Aliyu Madaki and eighty others said the agreement contravene the norms, values and religions of Nigerians.
Mr Aliyu Madaki urged the House to thoroughly investigate the agreement which has generated controversies in the last one week.
Contributing to Motion the minority Leader Mr. Kingsley Chinda said the parliament was not carried along in the controversial SAMOA agreement which has put many Nigerians in darkness on what the agreement was all about
The House Chief Whip Usman Bello Kumo emphasized that the House would never support any agreements that are contrary to the belief, norms and culture of Nigerians
Adopting the motion, the House referred the matter to relevant committees for further legislative action.
