GOVERNOR YUSUF INSPECTS MULTI-BILLION NAIRA KAFINCHIRI IRRIGATION PROJECT, REVOKES GARKO FIVE-KILOMETER ROAD CONTRACT                                                                                                                                    02-09-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    Kano state Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, conducted an on-site assessment of the Kafinchiri Irrigation Project in Garko Local Government Area, a key initiative under the state’s agricultural transformation drive.

The project, valued at N2.5 billion, is aimed at bolstering year-round farming, enhancing food security, and driving economic growth in the state.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa,and made available to Journalist in Kano.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf emphasized the significance of the Kafinchiri Irrigation Project, highlighting it as a vital component of his administration’s efforts to promote continuous agricultural production in Kano State.

He urged the residents of Garko and surrounding areas to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the project to improve their socio-economic conditions and contribute to the state’s overall development.

In a related development, the Governor announced the revocation of the contract for the Garko Local Government five-kilometer road project due to the contractor’s failure to mobilize to the site.

He assured that a new, reliable contractor would be appointed within a few days to ensure the project’s timely completion.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf also committed to establishing a modern health facility in Garko town, aimed at bringing healthcare services closer to the people.

He expressed his gratitude for the continued support from the local community and reiterated his administration’s determination to maintain the momentum of progress.
