ZAMFARA FIRST LADY SUPPORT WOMEN WITH MONEY AND FARMING INPUTS IN CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR RURAL WOMEN                                                                                                                          17-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The wife of Zamfara state governor Hajiya Huriya Dauda lawal has pledged to support women in the rural areas with money worth twenty thousand naira, a bag of fertilizer and pesticide as part of activities marking this year’s celebration of INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR RURAL WOMEN.

The first lady Hajiya Huriya Dauda lawal made the pledge when she visited Jauri a ward under Rawayya/Belle district and Furfiri district all in Bungudu local government area of Zamfara state.

Hajiya Huriya also donated money worth one hundred thousand naira and 4 bags fertilizer to the village head and district head respectively.

She said this gesture was part of her activities meant to celebrate the INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR RURAL WOMEN WITH the theme RURAL WOMEN CONFRONT THE GLOBAL COST OF LIVING CRISIS.

In both of the communities twenty women were given twenty thousand naira, a bag of fertilizer and pesticide each and another twenty women were given a bag fertilizer only each.

Earlier, in Their separate remarks the village head of Jauri Alhaji Iliyasu Usman and the district head of Furfiri, Alhaji Muhammad Labbo, both thanked the first lady for the kind gesture and promised to utilize the money and items given to them and women of their community to ease the cost of living.
