GOMBE STATE GOVERNOR FLAGS OFF CONSTRUCTION OF NEW STATE SECRETARIAT 28-05-25
By Sadiq Aminu Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has flagged off the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of a new State Secretariat complex within Gombe metropolis.
The project, awarded to Messrs Datun Construction Nigeria Limited, is valued at N68.5 billion and is expected to be completed within 102 weeks.
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Yahaya explained that the new Secretariat Complex is designed to address the challenges posed by the current scattered and outdated facilities used by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies MDAs.
According to him, these facilities, mostly rented, have hindered efficiency by increasing operational costs and forced the government to spend much
on rented offices.
The Governor emphasized that the new Secretariat Complex represents more than just physical structures and symbolizes the government’s commitment to providing the best working conditions for the civil service, which is the backbone of governance.
This development is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen governance infrastructure in Gombe State, following the recent flagging off of construction for new State Assembly and High Court complexes, estimated to cost N28.981 billion.
